Corvuss American Academy
India's first international school for student-athletes
Snapshot
About & Leadership
Corvuss American Academy is India's first international school built specifically for student-athletes. Since opening in October 2020, it has pursued a single, uncommon idea: that a child should not have to choose between serious sport and a serious education. The school sits on a 24-acre campus in Karjat, Maharashtra, surrounded by trees and views of the Matheran hills, within reach of both Mumbai and Pune and close to the newly inaugurated New Panvel Airport. Students come from across India and beyond, from Uttarakhand to Sri Lanka and Manipur to the Maldives, which gives the campus a genuinely international character. Corvuss is ranked #7 in India and #3 in Maharashtra in Education World's International Residential Schools Rankings 2025-26. What makes the school unusual is how completely the academic and athletic programmes are integrated. Students train in one of seven competitive sports under internationally credentialed coaches while following a full American curriculum, with the school's structure designed so that neither has to be sacrificed for the other. The outcome speaks for itself: every Corvuss student has received offers from colleges in India and abroad. The school now also offers day schooling and five-day boarding alongside full residential, giving families greater flexibility without changing the academic or athletic programme.
At Corvuss, we blend academics and sports to nurture independent thinkers, effective collaborators, and resilient student-athletes. Our goal is to help each child realize their potential and grow into global citizens and future leaders, ready to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Empowering young athletes to pursue their sporting dreams while earning a globally recognised academic education, within a structured, supportive environment that prepares them for success at top universities worldwide.
Academics & Results
Corvuss follows the American curriculum, built on the American Common Core State Standards for English, Mathematics, History and Geography, and the Next Generation Science Standards for Science. The school chose this pathway after extensive research with academic advisers based in Princeton, New Jersey, because it offers the flexibility a student-athlete needs to balance training, nutrition and conditioning alongside academics. Middle School (Grades 6 to 8) follows an interdisciplinary programme designed to help children transition into student-athletes, building independence, self-discipline, teamwork and creative thinking. Subjects include English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and a World Language (French, Spanish or Hindi). High School (Grades 9 to 12) leads to a US High School Diploma with a Grade Point Average calculated across tests, examinations, essays, assignments, classroom participation, group work, projects and attendance. Accreditation and recognition. Corvuss is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), making it the first school in Maharashtra and the third in India to hold this accreditation. The curriculum also follows ACTFL and AERO standards. The high school diploma is recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and by universities in the United States and worldwide, and is NCAA-eligible, meaning graduates can compete in collegiate sport in the US. Special education support is available for students who need it.
